The state of comics journalism is disastrous. It was never great, exactly, but it’s become abysmal. The Comics Journal hates you if you admit to having read a superhero comic book published after 1985. ComicsBeat is malware or something now, and I’m not even sure if they know. ComicsAlliance is dead, its stinking corpse reanimated and made to do unspeakable things by a malicious puppetmaster. Newsarama is even deader than that, although that’s no great loss. Bleeding Cool is still what it always was, an Adrian Wojnarowski for cape comics.
